Korean apartment listings are often quoted in pyeong (24-pyeong, 34-pyeong), while the deed and contract use square meters — easy to mix up.
The exact formula
One pyeong is exactly 3.3058 square meters. Multiply pyeong by 3.3058 to get m².
A quick mental-math shortcut
"m² ≈ pyeong × 3.3" is close enough for most purposes. Going the other way, "pyeong ≈ m² ÷ 3.3".
Exclusive area vs. supply area
A listing's "34-pyeong" is usually the supply area (exclusive area plus shared common space). The exclusive area on the actual deed will legitimately come out smaller in m² — always confirm which figure a contract is quoting before signing.
Comparing against overseas listings
Overseas real estate is often quoted in square feet rather than pyeong, so converting through m² is the least confusing way to compare a Korean listing against one abroad.
Conversion table
| Pyeong | m² |
|---|---|
| 10 pyeong | 33.06 m² |
| 24 pyeong | 79.34 m² |
| 34 pyeong | 112.4 m² |
